President & CEO

Kurt Mische is the President & CEO of PBS Reno, the PBS member station in Reno. He joined the station in September 2009 and leads a staff of 37 and is the second longest-serving CEO in the station’s 37 year history.  Under his leadership, PBS Reno has earned a regional Emmy nomination, 57 awards for pro­duc­tion, a PBS Inspiration Award for fund­raising and has been a Greater Reno/Tahoe Best Places to Work Finalist four times. Several of the station’s series and documentaries are distributed nationally on PBS member stations.  Mische serves on the board of the Nevada Broadcaster’s Association, California Public Television and is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Reno+ Sparks Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the downtown Reno Rotary Club. He is a panelist and featured speaker at National Association of Broadcasters’ conventions, NETA, PBMA and PBS Development Con­fer­ences and is the recipient of several industry awards and certifications.
